The OP said they are moving, so the drive is a must-do.

I wouldn't do it. You don't NEED to go anywhere that's 12 hours away.

What if you suddenly find yourself homeless because you’re moving 22 hours away? Kinda seems like a need.

For really long trips when our kids were small, we got up and left between 2-3 am rather than drive overnight. Ours were really good about being carried from the house to their car seat then sleeping until later than their normal wake up time. One of us would try to go to bed really early the night before. We could not drive all night then arrive with kids who had slept the whole time and were fully energized when we were dead tired.
