Struggling with decision to leave NYC

Have you thought about Cobble Hill, Park Slope or Hoboken?

So you want to move so you can occasionally invite people over and occasionally have people stay in a guest room. But will have to deal with a daily commute (after Covid)? Doesn’t seem like a good move.

Nope. With the vaccines coming soon, I doubt that you will continue to find bargains in NYC.

There is no chance I would move. It sounds luke you are frustrated with the toy clutter. Invest in some good organization systems to deal with that now. And here's the really good news: the toy stage will pass before you know it. Then there will just be books and clothes and shoes amd sports stuff everywhere! No way would I give up what you have in NYC for the suburbs.

There are lots of things to do with the kids, shopping, restaurants, etc. Also, we really do enjoy having the space to spread out in our homes and even after Covid will have the ability to work from home a few days a week going forward. I also love that as the kids are getting older we are not all on top of each other when they have friends over.

Yes, or Mamaroneck? Faster commute and beautiful.
Greenwich feels far.

Get yourself a set of bunk beds, take back your dining room (or use it as an office for now) and stay where you are.

Found this thread by chance and I am curious about this pre-Covid decision.

I bet nearly 5 years later the kids have outgrown the toy clutter.
