This should be the worst inconvenience life throws at you. |
Works both ways. OP, you should go, break out the boom box with something that has inappropriate lyrics and lay out on a blanket until they leave |
Call the daycare. Ask what times their daily outdoor time slots at the park are. Avoid going at those times. |
St. Anthony’s uses the public park across the street daily. While it gets crowded, it is definitely eye opening to see the behavior of the children and staff of the daycare with the longest waitlist on Alexandria!! |
There are a lot fewer people at playgrounds in the exurbs, maybe it's time to move. There is nothing you can do about people using the parks. |
St. Anthony’s is the reason that playground was ever built. They fought for it for years. Op is clueless and needs to move to the suburbs, she doesn’t understand city life. |
The staff definitely treats you like you're in their space. Again, if they were just using the park it wouldn't be a problem but they're using the park in a way that makes it impossible for anyone else to use it. For pretty much the whole morning, every weekday. |
This is the most ridiculous post. Next time you buy property, make sure you investigate. St. A's has been walking the kids and using public spaces in that area since it opened in 2000 or 2001. It's no secret. They are easily identifiable in their uniforms.
And they're not at the park day. There is a daily schedule that may even be on the internet. Figure out when they won't be there if they bother you so much. |
I’m not sure OP is talking about the First Street park. St. Anthony’s stopped using the playground in the spring and summer, although maybe it has resumed. The Vinci School uses that same playground, though, so maybe OP is referring to them. As the PPs said, it’s a public park. |
Hahahha Alexandria is “city life” lol! OP, I’d just go to a different playground. Problem solved. |
That would annoy me, but I would just drive to a different park. |
This isn't St. Anthony's. I can't afford a house in that area. This is the only park within reasonable walking distance from my apartment.
Again, if they weren't getting in everyone else's space this wouldn't be an issue. |
You are delusional if you think it is really that different. The "horror" of kids running up the slides and the like happens all the time with all sorts of groups at the playground. Plenty of moms and nannies let their kids run just as, of not more, freely than daycare teachers. |
Oh no! Climbing up slides! How terrible! WTF? How long ago did you have kids and how much did they hate you? It's a public park, OP. They can do what they want. |
So go in the afternoons. You don't own that park. ![]() |
