Did a day 5 transfer. 2nd embryo stalled on day 5. Had 2 good blasts on day 3, but one didn’t make it until day 5. Drs are very concerned about risk of multiples so transferring 2 on day 3 wasn’t an option for us.

There seems to be a big push towards single embryo transfer to mitigate the risk of multiples. We had male factor, so for us they thought our chances were good if we could get over the fertilization hump and wouldn’t risk a transfer of 2 day 3 embryos and twins if both made it to day 5.

It’s hard because every case is different and with our factors every Dr we met with was concerned with the risk of multiples.
