I pay $7 to plan, shop for, and cook one meal. At 6 years old, this requires a lot of help from mom. But by 10 years old, my kids can plan a meat/starch/veggie, look up a recipe, ride their bikes to the grocery store, and prepare a meal.

I love the cappucino idea! |
| My son gets paid to feed the pets. He is very proud of his job and has a very strict pet feeding schedule. |
LOL What's the going rate? I'll have to try this. |
If they’re matching the Sock Bag (the bag where the leftover socks go when the laundry is done) they get .25 per pair. If I have them match from the laundry as it’s done they get .10 per pair. |

Emptying the wastebaskets
Putting the silverware away from the dishwashero Sweep front porch porch |

Restock toilet paper in the bathrooms and wipe down sinks.
Clean the dog's nose prints off the sliding glass door. And with everyone home and going in and out constantly, we're getting a lot of mosquitoes in the house. I pay 50 cents for every one they kill. |
| Do you ever talk about money troubles in front of him? I ask becsat 7 my DS told DH and me he didn't want any more tennis lessons. We were stunned as he loved tennis so much. We found out later on, that he overheard us talking how lessons were expensive among ourselves. |
OP here and no. We thankfully don't have money troubles at the moment. I think one of his neighborhood friends was talking about this with him. |
| My six year old gets paid $1 every week for pulling weeds and moving rocks out of our neighbors garden. Fridays are “pay day“ and he is works consistently and shows up wearing gloves and boots. I think it’s a very positive pursuit to encourage in your child. |

I think it's sad for a child this young to want to work for money.
Maybe it's a cultural thing (I'm not American). |

How do you keep a distinction between paid chores and unpaid chores.
If I tried to pay my kids for anything, one of them would try to get paid for any contribution to the household. One of my kids is wired like that. lol |
Not OP but why? There is nothing wrong with teaching a child that age the value of a dollar and how they can earn it. My brothers ( white American) we’re doing the paper route and shoveling snow as young boys for money. My parents felt it was a way for them to learn the value of a dollar and to learn responsibility. I don’t see anything wrong with teaching your child these things. |
Not OP but great idea. Going to use this and ask DC to breakfast and/or lunch lunch when they want to make money. |
This is very impressive!! |
