Playing college isn't that hard really.If you do your research you can find a college team you can play for. The truth is getting a full scholarship for a boy is almost unheard of. There are plenty of clubs BRYC is a great example. They boast of their players continuing their career at so and so college. They don't tell you its not a soccer athletic scholarship. Its a combination of academic and other financial aid applied for year to year. If your son plays for Vienna B team he can play in college if you want. It might be a D3 or NAIA in Idaho or Montana . and you will have to PAY full or some tuition. but they can play. Most people tend to way the rewards in college and choose studies over soccer. And Yes the ECNL parents take note here your kids are in the exact same boat. Their superior league as they think doesn't equate to an athletic scholarship in soccer. Most of your elite kids will continue to pay to play even at the college level. There will always be exceptions and outliers but vast majority fall into this category

This is nova. Parents making 6-7x more than a teacher and 10 x more than a youth coach are superior breed of humans. They’re also stronger. Prettier and all around better equipped for life. Their $ will push their child to wherever they have to. They don’t fail.

For my older player, no.

For my second, too young to really say, at U9. He loves the game (in a way my older never did) and has a real spark of talent in him. My goal is to give him enough exposure to the sport and enough of a chance for that spark to catch fire; if he wants to play in college and is able to, I’ll fully support him. But we aren’t planning on a soccer scholarship.

My daughter is in the recruiting year now. She can play D1, not at a top 10 program but certainly at a D1 program if she widened her target school search. That said she will not likely play four years of college ball as she is s a student first so I doubt she will even opt to go to a D1 school to play. She will play for fun not to retain some scholarship dollars. Her academics are more important to her.

Marshall JV was not very good in 2019. Played and beat them and DS JV team that year was not very good.
