Considering I almost never see MoCo police wearing masks when they pull people over, it doesn't seem like they're overly worried. |

Elrich and the CC suck. MoCo is dying economically, and has been getting its lunch eaten by NoVa for going on 20 years now.
The answer for MoCo is to keep raising taxes to cover the deteriorating tax revenue base. Keep electing far leftist shitshow clown morons like Elrich and the CC MoCo voters. Don't be surprised as taxes continue to go up as the county digs itself deeper and deeper into the abyss. |
+1. None of it makes any sense to me. |
Surely someone can challenge him in a primary, right? If so potential candidates need to put the good of the county/party above their individual ambitions and put forward one alternative to run against Elrich. It wasn’t like he won with a large portion of the vote in 2018, it was that the support for other candidates was so fractured. Blair somehow became the anti-Elrich choice, which was risky IMO. |
There is a middle ground between an extra $400 per week in addition to full salary and overtime, and nothing. We cannot afford what we are doing now. The county does not have endless money and we cannot borrow the difference. |
Employees who are at risk of severe complications or who have family members at home at risk of severe complications get to either take a temporary assignment that's not front line, or they get to stay home on paid administrative leave. |
+1. Its interesting to see Dr Stoddard on this as he spent the summer chasing after soccer rules. Literally they were shutting down practices at soccerplex after changing rules and the hours spent until they determined they would follow the experts. Similar with private schools with the endless dramas and this week he reports there really are no outbreaks - the few cases from the outside. But it made for good political theater with Elrich, Dr Gayles and Dr Stoddard pushing narratives for their 15 minutes of spotlight. Meanwhile the public schools struggle to bring even high risk kids back while they are full of daycare providers charging families $1300 a month to have their kids in their local public school doing DL But concerts and late night bars are the priorities which doesn’t match we follow the science and we are being super conservative Concerts were such a priority Elrich wrote Hogan - this was the ONLY thing he asked the state to expedite ahead of schedule. And after Hogan moved to phase 3 - he said Moco would not. Whether or not you believe we should move to phase 3, how does that make sense? |
| The email he sent - with the teaser "Reopening Montgomery County"; spoiler alert it's about the county remaining closed - blew my mind. So we're rolling out a new public bus system where people ride in close quarters, but no progress on schools reopening? |
| This is what you get when the alternate choice was Ficker... do better next time and you won't get a nutter running the county. |
Instead of going on a tirade, how about backing up what you are screeching about with actual facts, figures and data? I would actually like to see a 20 year comparison of D.C., MD burbs and NoVa burbs and see what the data tells us. Does such a website or database exist? |
I voted for Nancy Floreen in the general. But in practice, we all know whoever has the D after their name will win. |
Which is why more dem-leaning independents need to register and vote in the primary already. That’s where the contest is, and too many choose not to participate in the process, so we end up with whoever the most left-leaning activists choose. |
That and the moderate vote was split between way too many candidates. They all had too big of an ego to step down. |
| Bye Erlich. What a worthless person. Open schools!! |
