Absolutely this, 100%. Having your kid commute between McLean and Potomac every day is a horrible idea.

OP referred to a private in Bethesda, not Potomac. It’s probably an easier trip than Maryland commuters to Tysons had.

Not all of Bethesda is inside beltway and most is not walking distance to metro. I see folks dropping 1.4-1.7 near me in last few months in Potomac homes. So it is not price.

99.9% is. there is one block in park wood that is Bethesda. It's all inside the beltway.

What are your politics?? I MUCH prefer MD culture, over VA.

Also, your daily commute will be MUCH easier in Potomac.

You forgot the part of Bradley Blvd and Seven Locks near the River Rd exit that is outside the beltway. Also, the part near Montgomery Mall is outside the beltway and the part of Bethesda that's surrounded by the spur. Technically outside, but if you count the 270 legs it's inside.

Sort of agree. Parts of N Arlington are also the Bethesda of Va.

Maybe but Arlington is lower class than Bethesda and mclean. Schools are also a problem with ideas of poverty spread to lower the good schools.
