2021-22 School Year... will things be back to normal?

That is... quite an overreaction

That’s what we’re planning on. We’re applying to schools for next fall now.

If we get a new administration - yes. Not to be political but I see what other countries are doing and there is no reason we can’t follow their lead.

It’s a place we always wanted to live anyway. I have 4 kids I really don’t want to get sick. Just talked to someone whose husband had it and was sick for 16 days.

I am also afraid that they’ll try hybrid and not full time next fall.

Seriously? You don’t see your kids back to school a year from now?

I would imagine we begin fall 2021 with hybrid in person plans, which allows for in person schooling at lower capacity with the six foot spacing in classrooms.

Maybe here...but I predict that most of the country will open schools normally next year. This disease does not seriously harm children and teachers will have been vaccinated, so what is the hold up. I will likely relocate to a place with open schools.

Schools in the UK are back 5 days a week now.

OP - and what will school actually be like when it does reopen? I’m guessing a lot of review, discipline and mental health issues.

Good luck. This was my hometown until a few weeks ago. There was an outbreak at one of those churches where people think masks show you lack faith or something. Now the schools are closed and there are already 2p cades per 100k people.

20 cases, that is.

My guess is hybrid for fall and full time for spring. Depends on who the administration is, if school actually goes back hybrid spring 2021. Alot can change in a year though.

Isn’t DC letting in kids Nov 9? Won’t we follow?

Well I hope so... but last spring a lot of people said school would be back this fall for sure, and now look where we are.

It would be better that we all get Covid than that THIS be the new normal. Increased poverty, worse education, no education for special needs, mental health down the drain. I hate tot hunk Trump was right about anything, but the remedy is becoming worse than the disease.

When the elites (white collar jobs) start feeling the economic effects of this, like the rest of the country, no disease will seem like such a big deal.

It’s because of Trump everything went to hell in the first place.
