I think Zumba mentioned the shoveling.

OP again. Forgot to mention. 3 of the 4 of us picked up prescriptions two days ago. 1 is for serious illness. If that matters.

So what's to say other people you saw out weren't also running necessary errands? And perhaps they were so excited to finally be getting out of the house that they dressed up a little for the trip. Many people in this area drive sedans or smaller cars - if that's the only car you've got, then that's what you've got to go out in this awful weather in. I agree that the roads aren't safe for smaller cars like mine, but not everyone has another option.

Can't help but wonder if OP actually read their own original post about "Prima Donnas". If they didn't see the irony I just hope they don't drive and chew gum at the same time.

I don't know why you feel that your exile was so necessary. Most of the roads were fine on Tuesday. Really, coming from the north, the roads on Tuesday were completely par for the course, except maybe some local neighborhood streets.

So I take issue with the idea that we had to have a life-threatening emergency in order to go out. I drove Lee Highway, clear as anything, 66 dry as a bone, the parts of DC I was on were fine. You are a worrywart.

So the roads YOU drove on were fine, and you extrapolate that to ALL roads? Or at least "most"?

We went out. It wasn't an emergency, but we figured a re-stock was in order. Some roads were down to pavement, but lanes would be clear and then end, no merge areas in some places, other roads cleared only the tiniest one lane in each direction. It was not good.

The funniest things are said here about the poster without knowing the poster! OP here. VERY familiar with snow. So, I guess it just goes to show me that maybe not so many are.

Thanks for answering my question!

Don't need too much, you might just miss out.
