It was two years ago, but my kid had eight to write for the ivy he attends. (His desired stem major required extra). |
Purdue requires 6 if you also count Honors college application! |
| How would my child’s co7bselor know how many schools he is applying to. Doesn’t she just upload the transcript and her rec into a Common app and then she’s done. |
She can also see the list of schools DC is applying to on the common app. |
Way to squeeze that Ivy in there. |
Not just top schools. My son has a ton of supplements. |
She inferred. She didn't imply. |
The school has to send transcripts and recommendations. |
Oh just stop. Are you a frustrated English professor? Everyone knows what the OP meant, and your "contribution" adds nothing to the substantive discussion. |
That’s not how it worked for us. We had to submit a transcript request for each school to the counseling department. First 4 requests were free, $5/each after that. |
Annoying Orange, in the house! Howubeen Karen? The counselor did imply. My DC inferred what the counselor was implying. From Grammarly - Imply means to suggest or to say something in an indirect way. Infer means to suppose or come to a conclusion, especially based on an indirect suggestion. |
Plus they are wrong, which makes it all the more amusing. |
We were chasing merit aid... and had no idea which schools would offer more or less, or any. So our child applied to a LOT of schools. |
We did, too, PP, and for the same reason. My daughter applied to 12 schools. It worked out very well for us. As in all things, it depends - your goals, the types of schools you're applying too, etc. |
| Whats wrong with being indecisive. There’s 17. And in the middle of a pandemic and they haven’t even been in school in months and months and months. Let them apply to as much as they can handle if they choose and if you have the money for the apps. Why the big deal? |
