| From what I read if two members of the commission vote no, redistricting goes to the state Supreme Court which is republican. Two GOP members of a 16 member commission could (and definitely would) use the process to ensure republicans can continue setting district boundaries. Letting the House and Governor set them is not great either but it’s more representative of the people. |

Isn't that the opposite of what happened? I thought Democrats wanted it, right up until they took control. Now suddenly they're against it. |
Not exactly, the plan was altered. It’s a no from me. |
There is a split in Democrats on Yes and No. ie D Tim Kaine-US VA Senator, D Former US Attorney General Eric Holder, ACLU, AARP, LWV, R-former Gov Allen. ...NO individuals list is basically VA elected state people currently in office, party committees, NAACP. Yes is not a vicious plot by Republicans to have snake and octopus and paint splatter districts. Long term YES is better than what now exists. https://ballotpedia.org/Virginia_Question_1,_Redistricting_Commission_Amendment_(2020) |
| I voted no. Rs only want to try to make things fair when they’ll get are out of power. |
