Donor egg costs?

There are several popular clinics in Prague. I almost went to Gennet https://www.gennet.cz/en/ The online consult was good. With young eggs, these clinics get good results.
The IVF clinic in Zlin is also very well known in UK for donor egg cycles. They have a hotel attached to the clinic and the website says they can start planning cycles for foreign patients now. https://www.ivf-zlin.com/starting-price-ivf-cycle-with-donated-eggs

You can take an interesting trip and have a cycle for a fraction of the cost here.

if you've done foreign, how long do you have to stay in the country?

I used this place. It was cheaper to fly out twice (once for fresh xfer and the other for frozen sibling) than it was locally. A girl local to the clinic was the donor and she agreed to be available for contact if the kids would like someday.

I didn’t find out until xfer day that their 70% success rate was for putting in 2 embryos; I put in 1 and got pregnant both times and had a couple of supposedly viable embryos frozen.

They have their own donors and will work with national egg donor sites.

This was all over 8 yrs ago but they were all very nice, competent. I think I was drawn to the donor and found the clinic because of where she lived.

I just wanted to share my experience for anyone considering IVF abroad. I can genuinely recommend doing IVF in Prague – the prices are much more affordable (from 2700 EUR!) compared to many other countries, and the overall approach and care were excellent.

If you prefer having someone guide you through the process, I had a very good experience with a medical facilitator called Praga Medica https://www.pragamedica.com/medical-treatments/ivf-fertility-treatment. They helped with communication, scheduling, and everything around the treatment, which made the whole journey much easier.

Just thought this might help someone who’s currently researching options. Good luck to everyone on your IVF journey.

A good IVF clinic isn’t defined by geography or price. What really matters is safety (key questions to ask a clinic: fertilityroad /treatment-options-abroad/is-ivf-abroad-safe/
), as well as the clinic’s experience and expertise with your specific case and age.

You might choose the most expensive or the cheapest clinic, but if they don’t have proven experience with your condition and age group, and if their lab doesn’t meet high standards, your chances of success may unfortunately be lower.

I went to Zlin and was away for one week, but the embryo was frozen there waiting for me.

Success on the first try. The hotel is attached to the clinic. They also have a pharmacy and restaurant in the building. Everything you need is in one place. Everyone is very professional and helpful. I loved my coordinator. They pick you up from the airport.

the shared risk pool varies a lot, the more desirable fresh donors are most likely to be in the 1:2 and 1:1 pools, and if a desirable donor ends up in the 1:3 pool they are usually completely selected within an hour or three. You *really* have to be ready to pull the trigger whenever you see someone that fits.

we were just under $50k for a 1:2 fresh donor shared risk program and PGT. Our share was 20 mature eggs, 11 fertilized, and three made it to freeze. two were normal. first FET miscarried at 10 weeks, currently 20 weeks with our remaining embryo. I will be very happy if we get a take-home; despite having 5 more rounds available to us I may likely throw in the towel if this pregnancy fails... in which case it will be nice to get the base program price returned to us. (PGT isn't refundable)

hunh, this thread came back again. anyway, now a happy parent of a not-quite-five-year-old. no regrets.
