Why would you tell OP to ask them what they want? They're not similar at all. And knowing their asking price doesn't help her figure out what the going rate is in the Capital Hill area.

One has a boatload of experience. The other has some experience plus education. Therefore, rate may be similar.

Knowing the "going rate" for Capitol Hill doesn't help with two specific nannies during covid. OP needs to ask what THEY would take for the position and then use that information to hire one or decide to move with tehir search.

First, post on MOTH. You’ll get private replies from people who know you vaguely.

Second, we started at $25/hour plus true overtime ($37.50) for the last 10 hours/week for a nanny share on the Hill for two four months old in 2015. We gave her a $1 raise every year. We now pay our own nanny exactly the same amount, but we have 3 kids.
