me too PP. I hope its closed tomorrow!
I hope it's closed tomorrow because I'm sure the daycare will be and I don't want to have to use a vacation day.
I think it will be open. God, I hope so.
Metro is reporting that they will only have limited service on Thursday. I bet they close.
Those hoping that work is open tomorrow are clinically insane. This is just asking for serious accidents. Lanes dissapearing, slick road conditions, and limited visibility due to winds blowing snow = not safe. Many main arteries still have compacted slick solid chunks of snow and ICE on the roads from the initial storm (with additional snow now on top) . If tires hit a slick spot traveling at maybe 30-40 mph, it will cause a spin out and take out a bunch of other drivers. Some neighborhoods were never touched with a plow from the initial blizzard. 50-60 inches of snow untouched on a neighborhood street??? HELLO...wake up people...this is not happening. If you think it's happening, or are able to make it out of your neighborhood, have fun taking 2-3+ hrs minimum to commute if you're driving. And look for extended waits even if any public transportation will be operating at semi-decent capacity (doubtful). Those that are tired and want to get out of the house...do it at your own risk....but if you get seriously injured, or seriously injure someone else in your attempts to leave home, that's something that is on your own conscience.

OK, OK, the people wishing for work aren't actually wishing to go out on horrible roads - they are just saying they want out of their house.
Personally, my bosses have already set up several meetings with phone numbers to call in - so open or not - I am working tomorrow. Most likely while trying to watch a 3.5 year old. Torture anyone? |
Thank you person with a developed frontal lobe-however all nannies will be required to show up on time as usual or be prepared to take PTO while snuggled at home with their boyfriends. |
I think it will be closed tomorrow and possibly Friday, or maybe liberal leave Friday.
I personally feel work should be closed on Thursday and Friday. I believe work will be closed tomorrow with no issues. The real question is what about Friday. The extent of cleanup issues, especially neighborhoods should be considered, along with public transportation availablity. Without a doubt it will be liberal leave at the least both days already, simply because the numerous school districts are already closed for the week. This is a qualifier that automatically triggers liberal leave for both Thursday and Friday. Thursday will likely be closed. Friday is a question mark, but without a doubt, at the very least, liberal leave.
bump. any rumors out there?
OPM Director John Berry should currently be in a teleconference which he's been holding the last couple of days at 6 PM with those providing insight on the various situations across the DC-MD-VA metro areas. Should be hearing word on a decision shortly...my guess is by 7 PM...they announced 6:50 yesterday, and a little earlier the day prior.
No MARC Train for tomorrow on any line...certainly this will help weigh with the decision...Metro expected to be limited, not sure about VRE....we'll see...
LOL re the crazy poster about nannies and their boyfriends in bed.
Metrorail confirmed as being limited to Underground only for Thursday, with bus likely to be suspended. This, in addition to MARC train being suspended tomorrow, and bad road conditions should be enough to seal the deal for tomorrow. Just waiting on official word still...
Feds are CLOSED on Thursday!!!
