Henry's Blend from Seattle's Best.

Maxwell is what we have in our house. Very good. I hate Starbucks coffee though so we obviously have different tastes in coffee.

Dunkin Donuts is a nice, medium blend. Pass on it if you like it strong though.

Dunkin' Donuts. Hands Down. Starbucks is the overpriced WORST. Since you asked.

another vote for peet's, french roast for me.

If you ever come across it, try Swings - it's a little local brand that they happen to sell at the takeout on my street. There's a brick-and-mortar coffee shop down by the White House, and they sell it here and there. It's wonderful.

Almost doesn't matter. But my #1 suggestion would be to get a French roast (the darkest, most intense coffee there is). And after that I recommend:

2. Buy beans and griding them youself.
3. These brands, in this order:
* Peets (chocolately, rich, hands-down the best grocery-store available coffee)
* 365 Whole Foods brand
* Starbucks
* any other brand

But honestly, once you get #1 (French roast) and #2 (whole beans you grind yourself), #3 (brand choice) adds substantially less value IMO.

Newmans whole bean. And the profits go to charity. It is better than Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts and Eight O'clock.

Peets Major Dickason's Blend... if you really wanna do it up, make it in a french press. You'll be over that Starbucks addiction quickly.

I second this!

For what you pay at Starbucks, you can afford to buy 3 bags, keep your favorite and throw out the rest. And you will still come out ahead.

agree

Why be this picky in the middle of a history-making blizzard?

You're lucky you even have access to hot water.

Zeeke's. It's roasted in Baltimore and I know MOM's, in College Park, carries it but I don't know who else does. My husband likes Dunkin Donuts much more than Zeeke's so that's what we have most of the time and Zeeke's is a treat. Especially when they have their booth set up at the Greenbelt Farmer's Market and I can get their iced coffee.

Consumer Reports just rated store coffee and Starbucks House Blend came in first. My favorite is Trader Joe's French Roast - good stuff!
