Shhhh!

Don’t you know most Americans are too fragile for this info? They need to believe Asians are a robotic, drone- like monolith or their egos will explode.

Actually the Asia-Pacific region including China has more wealth ($128 trillion) than North America ($115 trillion) according to this source - the Credit Suisse GlobalWealth Report 2019. The US is still on top with $106 trillion.

This is an odd comparison a region vs a continent, stats can make whatever point you want. Remember when they used to break out Japan and it was going to pass the us in wealth, gdp etc. They don’t do that anymore

Hasn’t China’s working age population already peaked. Low birth rate and no/low immigration in a country that may get old before rich...nobody knows how this will play out...not to mention authoritarianism when they move to a knowledge based economy. It will be interesting and unpredictable

Have you been to China recently? Their streets and subways are packed with young people - teenagers, 20s and 30s, very different than what we have here. I was like “Where are the older people? Do they have any?”

Yea, because your personal anecdote trumps real actual statistics. China has a quickly aging population due to the one-child policy, here's a graphic:

China has made great strides in controlling its population growth which was out of control with its one-child policy. However the labor pool is several times larger in China and has the potential for productivity growth. As a result, growth in GDP, wealth and productivity are much higher in China than in the west. The aging population bulge is a problem in both the east and the west, but it is much easier to deal with these issues if your economy is growing several times faster than other countries. In essence, the east is growing more prosperous, albeit from a lower baseline while the west is stagnating with expectations of a higher economic baseline.

I know you’re mad, but sorry, China is rapidly overtaking the US and Trump is never going to MAGA.

Asia has a lot more to it than just China. Asia has a lot more people than North and South America. What is the medium income in Asia?

It sounds clever bc it’s true moron. Get your head out of the sand and stop being one of the fragile, egotistical people one of the PP’s mentioned.

Asia includes Russia. Russia has long had a ton of billionaires due to oil, and because it is a kleptocracy.

I don’t disagree about Russia, but in OP’s numbers Russia was included with Europe.
