Induction stories

Admitted for high BP at 40 weeks.
Got cervical ripener around 9pm
By 11pm in labor with regular contractions every 4-5 min
Evil midwife denies I'm in labor and says that I have to be prepared for this to last "48-72 more hours"
Evil midwife gives me a VERY PAINFUL cervical stretching procedure
By 2am in so much pain I decide on epidural
Evil midwife tries to discourage me
I get wonderful, wonderful epidural
Evil midwives explain nothing overnight but have me on O2 until the OB I've never seen before comes in at 8:30am suddenly saying baby needs to come out stat
Nicer midwife comes in and tells me to push
Baby pushed out by 9am, goes to NICU for failure to transition well (but only 4 hours)
Evil midwife tells me "you were right to get an epidural" and I think I would have spit in her face if I weren't so out of it
The end.

My second was induced and it was a piece of cake.

Went in at 7 pm, in room by 8. Started cervical ripener at 9 pm. Another dose at 1 and 5 am. Contractions were going so I got an epidural at 630 am. After that went in, they checked me and turns out I was only 2 cm dilated despite the strong and regular contractions LOL. Man I felt like an idiot. Anyway they decided to do a foley bulb at 9 am instead of a fourth dose of ripener. Dilated quite quickly after that so pitocin never ended up starting and baby was born at 1230 after 10 minutes of pushing. Ended up having a retained placenta and was never more pleased to have that epidural still working while the dr was elbow deep in there trying to manually dislodge. That didn't work and I ended up with a D&C. Finally got to snuggle with baby around 230/3 pm.

I'm the immediate PP who got the painful cervical stretching BEFORE the epidural, and I think you ended up doing it in the right order!
