Went to Russia. There were a lot of foreigners as patients at the clinic there, mostly Europeans as well as Russians and Chinese. The clinic is top notch. (I had fertility coverage through my employer in the US and previously had cycled in CFA and SGF and consulted in GWU and Cornell up in NYC, so I have a good baseline to compare).
The facilities and equipment are on par with what I've seen in the US. I was in a donor eggs program (which had to be out of pocket in the US and that was the primary reason for going abroad). In my case first FET didn't take but second succeeded. |
Those who can afford Moscow will definitely stay in Russia. I heard from various sources that medical tourism in Yerevan, especially IVF and complicated dental procedures cost less than a third of the price in Moscow clinics. |
In Russia the universal government provided health insurance fully covers IVF, people who can't afford to pay out of pocket go via that route, they don't go abroad. There is medical tourism in Armenia yes, dental yes, but not for IVF and not from Russia. |
Alright, RUSSIA has universal healthcare and we don’t. That’s.... really something. Not a surprising something, but something. |
If it's any consolation the quality of medical care is not great... |
I know six people who have gone to CNY, none have had success. Both OE and DE. |
