Best time for the baby to wean from breastfeeding

+1 Mine was like your first. Part of me wanted to keep nursing but I knew I should leave it up to him. He weaned at 15 months.

I wonder what that's based on? Doctors often don't have great breastfeeding info. One doctor I saw was shocked I was still nursing my baby after she had a couple teeth. In my mom's group it was very common for kids to self wean between two and three. With the immunity benefits, I wouldn't try to wean in cold and flu season in a pandemic.

Stubbornness. 18 months is when the stubbornness kicks in. Better to be done with the habits by then.

The immunity benefits have already been given. They aren’t there after 1.
