How long does it take for infant to adjust to daycare

Eh, your baby may not have been able to, but there are lots of babies who do things before they supposedly can. Kid development is weird.

If covid prevents them from changing, I’d look for a small in-home daycare or spring for a nanny.

If it's just coordinating the same person for one kid, they might be able/willing to do it. Agree it's worth asking.

This gives them worse separation anxiety because they never know when you’re going to leave. I had a friend who did this and instead of working through it with her child she’s just disappear. That kid was so ill behaved and anxious it was awful. Can you imagine the center of your universe disappearing and they never tell you they’ll come back? Kids can learn that mom says “bye bye” and comes back. They'll never learn to be ok with you running off.

Whoops responded to wrong comment. Meant to be about the one where the parent said they would just dash out.

+1. Covid protocols have definitely made me rethink Center vs small in home daycare for my infant. I want her to know and trust one caregiver and not have to see masked people. A nanny would be the best but it would be very, very hard for us to swing the expense.
