Help, my car won't start, key fobs don't work, and can't lock or unlock doors from inside of car

If a battery is near end of life (fits with OPs timeline) and the car isn't being driven much, they just stop working

Get a jump and battery replacement. Older battery + short drives have left it depleted. It could be the alternator, but more likely the battery and you're better off with a new one going into winter anyway.

Also you can now buy for ~$50 a portable battery charger that charges in your home outlet. AAA etc now use heavier-duty versions. They no longer jump from their batteries.
