they've burned through their close friends and have moved on to old friends. They're probably 5 figures in debt with crates of crap they can't sell and they're desperate. They don't want friends, they want customers


+1 million. They have zero interest in reconnecting with you and only see you as a potential sucker and customer. If they cared so much about reconnecting, they would have done it before or at least not without mentioning their MLM.

I just tell them “thanks for thinking of me. I’d love to catch up. I am not looking for a skin care routine right now, but if I do decide to buy Rodan and Fields, I will buy it from my next door neighbor / fellow preschool room mom /etc.”
basically I imply that there is someone local to me that I see daily or weekly and I would have to buy from them first. Then I tell the local people - “oh, sorry my aunt/childhood bestie/someone close to me also sells this and I have to Use them to preserve the relationship”

No way, that gives credence to the MLM’s popularity/value.
