OP here. We have a venue that had a wedding with white and gray with green flower centerpieces. We are going to do something similar. I didn't know if forest or emerald green would be too much. |
OP here. I will be letting them choose their own dress in the color we select. They can choose their own style and what fits best with their body type. |
|
I really like green, with white flowers and then your bouquet and floral arrangements can be white with a TON of greenery. That will be super pretty and fresh.
Wine is overdone (I say this as someone whose bridesmaids wore bordeaux red dresses 10 years ago). |
I love it, OP, it's unique and sounds really pretty! |
| I would go with a variety of green. I gave my bridesmaids a range of colors, and they selected their own dresses within that range of color (like coral to fuchsia -- all suited to their body type. style, etc.). |
Why don’t you ask your bridesmaids what they prefer. Hopefully they can wear it again if they like it. All the colors you mention sound pretty. |
| I wore forest green in a wedding party once. One of my favorite bridesmaid's dresses! Bouquets were mixed colors and stood out against the dresses. Wedding was fall outdoors, and it was such a nice vibe. Photos came out really nice. I also like wine. Emerald is a tougher color for some skin tones to pull off. |
| My sister in law did green, and it was beautiful! |
In defense of the pp, the op said she was getting married in the fall, which I assumed she meant this fall too. |

What do you bridesmaids look like? I'm a white brunette and look best in jewel tones. My friend chose pink and mauve colored dresses and we were so washed out/sickly looking in pictures. Darker skinned people look better in those colors.
Of your colors I'd prefer emerald. But in real life, I'd want navy or black. |
| I'd let them find dresses from normal stores in the wedding colors, various shades. It looks so much more modern and grown up. Exactly matching dresses (or even the same color in different styles) looks very twee. Perhaps send some inspiration dress pictures from Nordstrom, etc., and let them find something they like? There should be lots of wine and green options around the holidays. |
|
I think the dark pink/wine would be nice.
But rethink bridesmaids! Seriously. No one wants to be a bridesmaid. It is way nicer to go to a wedding as a guest. Plus less money for them and less drama and coordination for you. win win. |

I had to wear a dark green bridesmaid dress, and I hated it. It’s not flattering on everyone, and that should be your primary concern. You should go shopping with your bridesmaids and see how they look and feel in whatever color you go with.
There’s a reason black is so popular: everyone looks great in black. |

OP here. We are looking at David’s Bridal for bridesmaids dresses. They are a decent price and they have a variety of options. I want either a dark first green or a wine color. I think those are very beautiful and fall colors.
I’m fair skinned and greens, blues, and dark plums look good on me. Most of my bridesmaids are also fair skinned and will be fine with either color. |
OP, you could do a black suit for men and the bridesmaids can pick between a green or black bridesmaid dress. It will tie in to your neutral tastes, but also give the women options if they don’t look good in green. |
