Anyone else using sleep aid medication nightly?

No. I prefer not to be medicated. No kids, no job I just stay up until I fall out. I'm running out of books.

I take a cvs brand sleep aid. It’s a blue gel pill. I take two a night for about 3 years now. Before that I used to take melatonin but then quit for a few years when I was pregnant and nursing X 2. When I tried to take it again I’d have nightmares so that when I switched to my current sleep aid. I tell my doctor every year at my physical and he isn’t concerned. I take nothing else other than the sleep aid. It does worry me because I generally don’t like to take meds.

Yes, I take a low dose of Xanax, magnesium and Gabapentin. I suffer from anxiety, insomnia and PTSD even when it’s not a pandemic.

NP -- me too. I take 100mg Trazedone nightly or if I really need sleep I'll take 200mg of Quetiapine (Seroquel) which really knocks me out but leaves me groggy in the AM so I prefer not to take it. Otherwise I have melatonin or as last resort, Nyquil. Yep, got an arsenal.

M’y dog takes trazadone and gabapentin - sleeps well! Tylenol PM is just Tylenol and Benadryl. Skip the Tylenol and take 3 Benadryl. I listen to sleep stories on the calm app and meditate. Sleep very well.

I'm a PP. I wish I could, but I am working overtime as an essential worker in a surging state, and it's a job that requires me to be on top of my game every day. I was missing so much sleep I was missing things and messing up.

Yes, Benadryl. I don't pay extra for PM meds as they are just Benadryl. I have been insomniac since childhoo. Brain just doesn't turn off and I don't actually feel tired at night, nor sleepy.

Same here. Thank God for economy size bottles of Tylenol PM. Definitely not ideal, but I appreciate you starting this thread, OP. It's kind of comforting to know I'm not the only one having to cope this way.

If you’re going to do this, you should get a version without the Tylenol. Taking Tylenol every day is more dangerous than taking a sleep aid without the added Tylenol/Advil. Costco has one...Kirkland brand (which you can get from amazon as well). The active ingredient is Doxylamine Succinate 25 Mg (similar to Benadryl)

Muscle relaxer and melatonin. I don’t move and it is glorious. Best sleep in my entire life.

CBD oil works wonders

I started having memory issues after about 6-8 weeks of taking Benadryl. I quit. Cold turkey. My brain recovered.

I had never tried marijuana before the pandemic. Had smelled it from someone nearby at a concert once or twice, but that's it.

My sleep is good, I'm less wound up during the day (and getting more work done), GI issues are quiet, and haven't had a migraine.

This sounds heavenly. Looking forward to dispensaries being the norm. I use low dose melatonin, magnesium, and amino acids - they surprisingly work better than Tylenol pm, but less well than a low the/cbd combo. I’d much prefer an edible.

Yep. Have been for literally years. No side effects.

Every night for many years. Keeps me sane.

Do you all take these aids to help you fall asleep or stay asleep? I fall asleep fine but can’t stay asleep. It happens every night and has been going on for years. I’ve only tried Benedryl, melatonin and magnesium with little to no success. I think it’s over time that I look into other options and get my doctor involved.
