Getting pregnant with the pull out method?

Yep. Triplets.

OP, because I was over 30 and had been on birth control for a decade, I quit birth control a few months before I ‘wanted’ to be pregnant, figuring it would take time. I was pregnant within 2 months.

Aren’t they your kids too?!?

Newsflash: sometimes people marry someone who already has kids.

No, they aren't.

This, and I'd never use the pull out method. He clearly didn't do it right.

I did, twice. The one time we were trying I got pregnant approximately the day I went off BC.

I'm religious about my BC now.

We have been using pull out for at least a year with no “accidental” pregnancies. I was tired of being on birth control.

OP here, does your partner pull out right before? How many seconds before?

The pull out method works until it doesn't. I know more than a few women that had surprise babies from relying on the pull out method. Why? If you both have above average fertility, then even the small amount of sperm in precum can be enough for conception. Plus, people get sloppy and either forget to abstain around ovulation or pull out too late. Lastly, the further into your 30's you get, the more common it is to have slightly irregular cycles - you could ovulate a few days earlier or later, ovulate two eggs, etc. Just because you've done it successfully for years does not mean you won't have a surprise early ovulation one cycle and end up pregnant. You don't want another pregnancy, then use a diaphragm or some other barrier method until you're ready to TTC.

OP here. Thanks for all of the advice.

If you re having sex and no birth control a pregnancy is not an accident.

The pull out method always works until you get pregnant.

Is this a serious question? OP, how old are you and did you ever have sex education?

The pull out method always worked for us. Decided to ttc and was pregnant in 2 cycles. I wouldn’t recommend pull out if it would be a problem if you got pregnant.

Was using natural family planning, pull out, tracking, and abstaining during ovulation window.
Our DC will be two at the end of August.
