This person is always on here spouting the same thing. |
| We decided on donor egg because I wanted to have an infant and a genetic connection. After donor eggs failed several times we considered adoption but we got overwhelmed and felt we would be too old by the time we might be able to get a child. |
Feel free not to answer but where were you trying to adopt? Did you try from out of the state? |
(OP) Thank you, this is definitely one of the reasons I am considering DE. As my age increases I know the quality of my own eggs goes down. I will check out the other forum page. |
What agency did you use, if you don’t mind sharing or was it foster to adopt? |
NP here. This is a great point. I have to admit my initial reaction was “why would you create a child that isn’t biologically yours instead of just adopting a non-bio child.” But you’re right PP. Donor sperm is widely accepted when one person in the couple cannot conceive. I actually feel like it’s sexist against men though. Like we can understand a woman using someone else’s sperm so she can have a biological child, but we don’t appreciate the fact the male in the couple may want a bio child. |
.....kids than families... It’s only the other way around for infants and young children. |
Lol, there's nothing unethical! |
No, we actually didn’t even meet with an agency. I just started searching online. I think we were just burnt out from Ivf. |
| Adoption, we’re fostering for a year or two before hand. But open to domestic adoptions not in the DC area. |
