Same. Owners get a lot more slack raising bigger dogs. They are generally calmer, even if not well socialized as puppies. (Of course, not always.) |
| I grew up with mastiffs and bull mastiffs. They slept all day. They'd bark if someone came to the door. Like once or twice. Then went back to sleep. And as long as we seemed fine with the visitor, the dogs were fine with the visitor. I much prefer larger dogs. Although I have a derpy lab mix myself. |
| Yes, big dogs scare me because my toddler was attacked by one. I've never gotten over it; nor has he. |

Im scared of Rottis because I know they are very loyal and protective of owners. So I wouldn't want to do anything innocently that they would perceive as threatening.
I would be afraid of any other large dog that is not trained. |
| Not generally, no. There are certain dogs in my surrounding neighborhood that I do not trust, but it isn't size specific. The dogs that are aggressive toward my lab include a husky and a basset hound, but the sweetest and largest one we meet is a rhodesian ridgeback. |
| Not usually - our neighbor has a sizable, imposing Cane Corso and she is scary looking. But according to other neighbors, it's a nice dog. |
