If the games are scheduled so that players can drive to the tourney and back home without needing a hotel it should be fine. The issue is with increasing the exposure through hotel stays, team dinners, eating out, gas stations etc.

I have hope that a season can happen but it will have to consist of local games and tournaments. The quicker people just get on board with that the quicker local clubs and leagues can just move forward with scheduling things within a max of a two hour drive.

This means ECNL, GA and EDP as well. Stop holding out for some unlikely best case scenario and plan more pragmatically.

No local leagues are going to play this fall. Stop holding out for anything.

I believe not having a season at all is a realistic outcome and would not be surprised if that is in fact the case. I also think it is possible to have some level of a season. Accepting both possibilities is not holding out for anything.

Numbers could tapper off over the next month or they could steadily rise. Knowing how people behave I would put my money on rising numbers which would kill even an abbreviated fall season.

That said, a fall season could happen and if it does it will be very short and very local. If we are lucky we can get through September before things are shut down. That most local schools will be going distance learning, while ominous, actually can increase the odds of a limited travel season happening because kids will not be as exposed to one another other than their team mostly.

But, the fact that schools are going mostly distance learning is also a elephant in the room that cannot be ignored.

So, long post short, plan as if some form of season may happen but expect that it will not happen at all.

If we are limited to just team training I can accept that just to keep kids active at this point.
