First I change from my work day shorts and t-shirt into my weekend t-shirt, and then the weekend is like most other days. I have been able to spend more time with my kid now that my commute is fine and I am permitted to work after 7. |
Same as every other day, with the difference that on weekends my husband is not working - he is just playing his video game. |
Trying to catch up on chores and work I couldn’t do during the week while both of us worked and juggled kids. Wish I could quit my job... |
Everyday is the same. Some learning, some work, some chores, some exercise outdoors, some fun. |
Parks and long walks with kids, drives, lake, getting lost in a podcast that lets me imagine a pre-Covid, pre-cancel culture world. |
NYT crossword puzzle, do some chores, play golf, ride bike, drinks and dinner at home rinse and repeat on Sunday. |
We have a tiny rustic cabin so we pretty much live in the city Mon-Thurs and the cabin Thurs night/Friday morning-Sunday night. We boat, kyak, paddle board, fish, swim, grill out. Thinking of getting internet there and staying weeks at a time. |
second verse, same as the first |
I like the slower pace of life. We’re doing regular play dates with a couple of families who are all WFH/no daycare like us. We never did structured activities other than Saturday morning music class, which I do miss. |
Our pool is open so we are spending all the time we can there. |
Not too much, especially because it’s so hot. We did outdoor dining for lunch both days this weekend and got ice cream yesterday. Today we mostly stayed in the house, trying to entertain our 3 year old. |
Sometimes we drive an hour or so away for a hike in the mid-morning, have a picnic lunch, and then come home. One of our kids has been having an issue that keeps us home, so we are pretty much just home all day, outside for a bit in the morning, and then sometimes again late in the afternoon once we get shade in our yard. Otherwise we are inside hanging out. |
We have a pool and a boat, so either out on the Potomac or swimming in the backyard. We grill, have friends over, etc. My kids are ungrateful little brats, so they fight and whine all day. Once COVID is over and they're a little older, they'll be spending their summers at sleep away camp. |
Saturday we went to a creek and then a pick your own farm. Then hung out with another family and kids played in sprinklers. Sunday we had in laws over in the back yard, baked a pie for them and then went to pool in afternoon. Good weekend. We try to do a little or big trip at least every other weekend and always go to the pool. I think the county pools in MD are open, OP |
We go for long drives, hiking, gardening, chores...pretty much our lives before the pandemic. We love the fact that we don't have to socialize anymore.
kids read, exercise, study, virtually hangout with friends, remote volunteering, chores, sleeping, netflix... We are making elaborate meals so lots of grocery shopping, lots of organizing. We have some projects around the house too. Basically getting ready for winter. The only sad part is that my kids don't get to go to school and hang out with their friends. Apart from that...pandemic has been good. I wish I could get my cleaning lady but I have adjusted to that. |
