Celebrities who look better with short hair

Mariska Hargitay from Law & Order SVU looked better with short hair. She looked like a NYC detective who wouldn't be fussing with long hair as she chased bad guys through the gritty streets and subways of NYC.

I wonder when I see women who have to always wear their hair up in a bun, for work or for heat or whatever reason, why they hang onto the hair. Why not just cut it into a stylish shorter cut?

Because it's faster and easier to pull your hair back/up than to style a short haircut every day (unless it's crazy-short). Leaving it long also gives you more options--up or down depending on your mood and the occasion. Once you go short you're stuck with it.

Yes, plus for some it’s a bit of a security blanket.

100% and I think for some its good reason! I definitely don't think I have the face to pull off short hair. I have very nice cheekbones but not really a good face shape or jaw or mouth- hair down distracts from that!

Yup I rocked short hair in high school when I was a skinny thing. Now I wouldn’t be caught dead with short hair bc it would make me feel (even) fatter.

I feel like actresses with delicate, pretty features and good bones look better with short hair. They look pretty with long hair, but it sort of overwhelms them, and they are striking with short hair.

She needs hair to cover those ears.
