Believe it or not, some people don’t live their lives according to tax burden

Yes. They are the super-rich. And most of us aren’t among them. For most people here, taxes are a factor. If they’re not for you, then you’re either a disgusting 1%’er, or you earn so little that you don’t pay taxes at all.

Not true at all. But I do know certain degenerate conservatives who think like this. They are all shit stains on society, though.

Cool story.

Please self-quarantine for 14 days and wear a mask.

Your post is rambling and written like someone who has never lived in Florida or someone who is depressed and possibly drunk. I’m sorry if it’s the second scenario and wish you luck with your move back. I hope you find what you are looking for.

Odd post. My husband and I moved to DC from NYC and I was unhappy for 8 years. We moved to Florida in November, both work from home and are extremely happy. Maybe don't make blanket statements about a whole state when you lived in one area. Or work on getting a guy.

Step away from the wine OP.

The pecking order part was weird but interesting.

more likely a Ben’s Chili Dog

I live in and enjoy Florida, but I can see what OP is saying. If I was unmarried and didn't have kids, it probably would be more exciting to live in DC rather than FL.

I mean, I couldn't imagine giving up my new build home, easy access to beaches and (normally) activities, and living in some walkup or rowhouse with my kids. And my career is doing well so I haven't had OP's experience. But they need to do what is best for them and maybe DC is it.

You have only lived in Florida since November. Check back after missing all four seasons.

Because you like high crime, anarchy, and the mentally ill

Exactly! Get a job working for the DC government and you get paid and don't even have to work! It's awesome.

Yeah, I find this a strange priority. Lower taxes means fewer services and worse education and, in the age of Covid, stupid, science-denying governors. No thanks.

Compare the COVID deaths per 100k in Florida to most other states, especially NY and NJ, then get back to us.

We’ll wait.

Or even DC for that matter. DC has a death rate, per capita, that is over 10x that of Florida.

Guess where they are from?

Agree! We relocated to a beach community in Florida 4 years ago. Locals are pretty nice. Hostility increases from October-April/May when the snow birds invade.

Florida is a big state w over 20 million people...how can you compare that to DC? Tampa, Orlando, Miami, Jacksonville, all have very different vibes, not to mention all the smaller cities and towns in Florida.
