Surrendering dog due to COVID?

Some people dump a dog after they've had it for 14 years because it's "too old" now. Dumping a four year old dog because "it could make me sick" is really easy to believe, unfortunately.

Have you considered how your OCD might affect your ability to take care of a dog? It would be a shame if this dog lost a family for a second time.
