Is it OK to use the term Karen now?

Thanks Jeff. It’s just that I have a number of family members (not young, but also not particularly old) with that name, and so I am particularly sensitive to its use as a derogatory understanding. Thanks for your efforts to curb that term, and for all you do for the DCUM community.

^^PS, I obviously would lean in favor of deleting the thread entirely given that the embedded original posts cannot reasonable be removed, but it’s your site and I assume you have your reasons for allowing the thread to remain, despite the misogynistic consequences of the misuse of an innocent female name.

^^^But on further reflection, I have to believe you would not allow or tolerate an original embedded post that referenced what you believed to be a racist or mysognystic term, which you have admitted you believe the misuse of “Karen” to be. So why this one, Jeff? I do think you owe a better explanation to those who bear that name. Thank you again!

In Jeff’s view, mysogyny and racism against innocent white women is perfectly acceptable. There is no other explanation as to why he would allow that thread and those tweets to remain on his site. Shame!
