What are your day cares doing to reduce the risk of COVID infection?

That won’t happen. People are too scared to send their kids back. Ours has laid off several teachers because parents pulled their kids out.

That will happen at some point if everyone has to return to the office and daycares don’t return to capacity. Not everyone is going to be able to afford a nanny or SAH.

I have had so many people calling me looking for daycare and I have to turn them away. There will be a shortage. sure, Some people can keep their kids at home for now, but in a month or two the situation will be different and people will need daycare.

What happens is some kids and families lose their spots.

This is us. We’ve been able to make it work at home for now as DH has only had to go in part time and I can be flexible with my telework hours. But he will be back full time in a month. My youngest DS should be able to return to our family provider as they are open for essentials and we’ve continued to pay to hold a spot. But as of now they would not have space for our older DS, who normally attends a center that is nowhere close to opening. Not sure what we’ll do. Hes 3.5, I can’t just stick him in front of the TV all day.
