Looking for new club

Find a parent coached MSI Classic team. Will cost around $200 (including uniform) for the season, and if there is no Fall season, you will get 100% back.

I only have experience with MSI Classic girls. If it’s about having fun and playing with friends, then this is a good option. But if you’re looking for soccer competition and development, MSI Classic is not for you even with paid coaches.

Remember, it’s Recreational, Select (Classic), then Travel Soccer. Don’t expect Rec to be like Select and don’t expect Select to be like Travel Soccer.

Find a team coached by Kevin Layton or Nadir Moumen. That’d be either Bethesda or MSI.

Didn't Kevin Layton get fired from a private school?

Your kid should have thick skin to play for him.

Why did he get fired?

Not sure, but I'll admit I'm a little dense on if a private school soccer job is a big deal or not. Anybody?

I'm sure it pays better than public schools!

We saw it it more as participation trophy environment for wealthy families who wanted to watch their kids play with friends and classmates. We went to Bethesda for the development and competitive aspect. Just as many wealthy families here only the culture is get to net level instead of participate with neighborhood cliques.

To say don't do a certain club is dumb. Just find a coach you like at the level of play for your child. Also, there's Montgomery Rush.

Any recommendations of coaches who are not all about themselves?

But apparently you don’t need to show up for work these days if you are employed by public schools, and you still get paid!

Heard some good things about FCGB, I’ll look more into them!

Also thanks for the update on Brit-Am, heard the owner is a jerk too so probably not best choice
