
When situations like this come up, I'm inclined to go with a babysitter even if children are allowed. Running after my toddler, trying to stop her from doing things she's not supposed to, doesn't sounds like a fun time to me. It's different if your being invited to a BBQ or something that's not an organized event like a shower. When in doubt, though, always ask. |
if it is for a first time mom, in the circles i run, no babies or kids usually come. although most of my friends have nannies. actually i personally wouldn't mind and was asked at my baby shower for my first if someone could bring their toddler and i said sure. i didn't mind. he was the only kid there, but it was not a problem for me (although the poor mom seemed stressed chasing after him the whole time and not having a chance to relax)! ask the hostess and/or person of honor. |
