| I believe the 3v3 tournament in Alexandria in July is going to happen now that we are moving into Stage II at the end of the week...provided we don't get bounced back. But I'm having a good feeling about this. |
| 3v3 tournament in Alexandria scheduled for July 18th just got cancelled "due to rising number of Covid cases in this area". |
Thanks. Tournaments are still allowed in Texas, Florida, Georgia, and New Jersey but not in VA! Hell, even Indiana is having INDOOR AAU Basketball tournaments. |
I agree with cancelling it because I don't think soccer tournaments are necessary during a pandemic. However, cases here aren't rising that much. It was never a good idea to have it, not because of some change. |
LOL, 3v3 tournament. I have more kids playing in my backyard on any given day...big scary 3v3 tournament lmao! |
You do you. |
| The 3v3 in Manassas is still on? I was just looking to see if they had any safety protocols in place. |
Some parent will complain to get it canceled. Don’t waste your time. |
Keep doing you and keep watching things get cancelled because you are too dumb to just chill. |
No parent is going to complain to get a 3v3 tournament when all they have to do is not sign up. And if the 3v3 tourney gets cancelled it is because there was just not enough interest to pay for it. |
They handled this poorly in both directions. Seemed tone deaf to go forward with a tournament so soon after the area entered Phase 3 and we all can see the local governments have been on the restrictive side. It is not even clear that tournaments as opposed to games are currently allowed. Then if they say rising cases are a reason to cancel then Alexandria Soccer might as well close up shop for the year because there will be weeks with rising cases. Right now it even seems like they are referencing the national rather than local case count. So basically rising cases anywhere is a reason to cancel. The local youth soccer organizations are going to have to get their act together better than this for there to be league games in the Fall. Around here they will need the protocols and sales job to sell the local governments that youth soccer is a manageable risk and that the youth benefits outweigh the risks. |

They received email(s) from a concerned coach/parents in the area. This has happened at multiple tournaments and it is a generic email they send not to single anyone out.
The question is when will Manassas be canceled... |
I think there's one in delaware this weekend |
Well there was going to be one. Cue angry Karen from NoVA who is not participating to ruin the fun for u13s and under. |
Letters saying “you should cancel” don’t actually cancel a tournament, low registration numbers cancel a tournament. There is no active campaign to stop 3v3’s just parents who are not signing their kids up for them. |
