I am being such a bad mom today...

Haha! This I my favorite comment.

Your kids will be fine, OP. Parenting is a marathon, not a sprint.

I’m with you, OP. I had period cramps today so I was very hands off. We did a lot of TV too. I’m now locked in my bedroom for some alone time.

+1. That's a guaranteed "never happened" here.

My mantra is "I am not a cruise director". You're helping them learn to entertain themselves which is a crucial life skill. Maybe covid kids won't be as...delicate as gen z.

You’re fine!

My sister and I easily watched 6-7 hours of TV a day on the weekends during the 90s when we were kids. We turned out just fine, and so will your kids!

Yup. Usually I’m like “wait, you need to be fed *again*?!” It’s freaking 3 times a day every day ... ugh.

You seem to be implying that you normally actively play with your kids all the time. I don't EVER do that!

Kids need some time to be bored and invent random stupid things. They need time to wander around and think uninterrupted.

We have bought Dixie bowls and eaten dinner in those 3 or 4 times a week.

My kid watched 8 straight hours of TV today. I don't feel bad...I've given up. I have him addicted to The Price is Right. He's learning what my childhood summers/sick days felt like.

Buckets with water in backyard for enrichment activity, takeout for dinner here.

Tomorrow, I will make bubble water with dish detergent for enrichment and carrots with fishsticks for dinner.

You aren’t a bad mom at all, I think everyone is so tired and understandably worn out from this.
I’ve never married or had kids, but I really admire all the ones with kids here. It takes such a different kind of patience that we singles wouldn’t understand.

Ha!
Sounds like you gave them a fun activity and you bathed them. 50 points to Gryffindor.
