I’m sorry OP and others We had seen some signs of stress in our older child and agreed to let her play with her best friend who was also exhibiting these signs. They are both doing so much better. We are also careful to point out this is a problem for older people in nursing homes and not kids and that the government is overreacting. We really believe this and maybe you don’t but I don’t want to be like one friend who literally talks about the syndrome impacting kids in front of her kids?! Why?
Also, I think there are a lot of people who don’t really see their kids stress because their kids aren’t talking about it and they are on screens a large percentage of time. No normal kid should be so happy to have their entire social network except for their nuclear family to be cut off and their entire daily routine disrupted with no end in sight. If your kids are thrilled about that for weeks on end, I think that is more cause for concern than a more normal amount of stress. |
