My understanding is that permanent box color is really hard to fix once you go down that route but presumably a semi permanent color is easier?

I have been using Wella Colorcharm at home for years. I love it and it is very gentle and long lasting, no peroxide. You can't get it at a drug store, only beauty supply store or Amazon or otherwise online beauty supply stores.

2nd Wella Color Charm, but it runs 1-2 full shades darker.

Wella Color Charm is good, but really does run dark. I have naturally dark brown hair that's mostly gray now. I've been trying to get it to a medium brown and thought using a light brown in Wella would do it - it turned my hair so dark that I had comments about going darker with my hair. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be fading.
