| We do not have a garage. My car is 17 years old..there is no damage to the paint I can notice. Occasionally I have to scrape it in the am. Occasionally there is bird poop. Neither of these a huge inconvenience to me. |

negatives of parking outside (i park all 3 of my cars outside for years)
1. gets hotter in the summer/colder in the winter (also snow cleaning) 2. birds poop on them if that bothers you 3. your tires may get dry rot from UV light over time. that's about it |
| Wrap your keys in foil if you have a proximity key |
| The worst thing for me would be how hot they get in the summer. |
| UV light will degrade and cloud your headlight covers faster. |
Less likely to be broken into, less UV-related fade to paint/damage to headlamps, less likely to be hit by falling trees/branches/debris. Depending how long your driveway is, this might not matter, but less chance of neighborhood kid knocking something into your vehicle or scraping it with their bike. We have never had a garage in the 20 years we've lived in NoVA, but I'd park my car in one, if we had it. Current home at least has a carport, which, for us, was a big upgrade. |

Our personal vehicles we park in the garage. The company vehicle didn't fit so it was parked in the driveway. Some kid broke into the company truck and stole business cards and a company camera. Police caught them the same night. We did remove the garage door opener and had an outside pad put up.
We have had substantial size hail over the years. My neighbor's garage is packed to the ceiling so her vehicles got hail damage on them. When it rains too much trees fall. We have no trees in our yard but another neighbor had one fall on his garage. His vehicle got taken out on that too. So I guess it's up to you to decide what you're willing to risk. |

Top and doors need to be put back on in the event of rain.

Car will get hot if parked outside. If the interior is cheap and made of a lot of plastic, it will degrade faster overtime.
Don't you see the Fords out there with plastic on the dashboard? |
