| I love it. I'm not Jewish, so I wouldn't use it for that reason, but in your case I would go for it. |
We have an Aviva! She loves her name. Go for it!
|
Sure, a UK company named itself that, but only because the founder thought it was the most beautiful name. They went on to have mega-billion success and now there are concerts at Aviva Stadium. Aviva is a force! Gorgeous name. |
| MOT here, and I don’t think Aviva is super-Jew at all. Would go with WASPy sibs no problem. Aviva is cozy close to WASPy Ava or Vivian, not an outlier like Chaya or Ayelet. Mazel tov, and I say go for it, too! |
Actually, “The name of the company upon its formation in May 2000 was CGNU plc and was created when Norwich Union merged with insurer CGU. In April 2002, the company's shareholders voted to change the company name to "Aviva plc", an invented palindrome word derived from "viva", the Latin for 'alive' and designed to be short, memorable and work worldwide.” - wikipedia |
+1. She was awful. I can never hear “Aviva” without shuddering. |
| Does it fit with the other two names? It’s pretty! |
| I think of a Wild Kratts, but I don’t think that’s a bad thing. I think it’s pretty. |
“Actually” lol, he loved the “invented palindrome word.” We do, too. |
I feel dumb because I had never heard of this company before this thread. My only association with Aviva is the Six O’Clock Scramble lady. |
| My associations are also Wild Kratts and Real Housewives of NY. That wouldn’t dissuade me- it’s a lovely name. |
| It's a financial services company |
| It’s a name that means Springtime. I like it! |
| Love Aviva. Considered it for my DD (we are Jewish). Ended up going with a different Israeli name. I know several Aviv’s and an Aviya. All the Aviva’s I know are all my age (nearly 50). I still love the name though. |
