I just had an NT scan last week, also 37 but definitely not "geriatric"!!!!

I was given the choice. I declined the NT and just did the NIPT. This is my 3rd child. For my first two, I definitely wanted the NT but at this time, one more appointment seemed like an unnecessary risk. |
| I had my NT done during the very early stages of COVID shutdowns in my state (CA), in late March. My OB said I could skip it but I was not willing to take that risk. The MFM in my town was not doing them if you had a normal NIPT, so I found one in an adjacent city and got it done there. I'm high risk (GD) and AMA and I wanted the peace of mind. |
| out in Seattle now. Third pregnancy and am 18 weeks. I specifically asked about the NT and was told it was no longer offered - the triple screen - and that they only did NIPT. I asked twice and they told me the same thing twice. I guess I could have demanded an NT but they told me that the NIPT was the better of the two to use and then the 20 week scan. I would have loved a 12 week view to make sure everything was ok. I am also a geriatric pregnancy at 38. But will have to wait two more weeks. The NIPT came back great |
Over 35 is considered “geriatric” pregnancy. I’m in the same boat. Sorry, ladies. |
