Changing clubs during a pandemic

From NW DC to Bethesda's fields, in rush hour, can *easily* be 45 minutes, one way. We saw practices in Rockville and even out at Soccerplex. Practices at the indoor facility at SoFive could be a 55 minute trip.

Make any sense for an 03 boy goalie to move or just ride it out? Plus of staying is guaranteed playing time. Moving to better club could be less time.

They do have specific goalie training but I'm not sure at that age that- I'd want to make a change. My my kid is young. Consider starting a new thread to ask parents with older kids.

Yes they do have goalkeeper specific training in that age group.

We had planned to tryout for another club before COVID. We still reached out to the club but as expected haven't heard anything. Sadly, I think with all the looming fears and no guarantee for a fall season, we're going to have to just stay put. It won't be ideal but I don't see clubs taking outside players without proper evaluations, especially if they are being bombarded with outside players. Tough situation all around.

We're switching clubs, reached out to three other programs, and heard back from all of them.

I know our club and age group head is evaluating potential transfers. If you are thinking about transfer, I recommend sending videos if you have them. It will give the coach something if they have not already seen your player and team in fall 2020.

not sure where you live but another poster just said stoddart is taking new travel players without tryouts.
