Thi ignores that funding has to come from somewhere at D3 schools and it is hard to imagine that in this environment, tuition will be used to fund athletics. |
1. I would think that lower D1's and D2 would be IN LESS trouble because their football teams generate less revenue anyways and the programs are less reliant on them. 2. Most of the money will come from academics not athletics 3. '22 04/03 will get snatched up at the same time. My belief. 4. Top conference with be hurt the MOST because their budget is structured around Basketball and Football. |
I’m feeling sad for my former DA DD. Playing in college is all she wants and between DA folding and COVID college impact the 03s and 04s And maybe the 05s are in a really crazy place. We’ll keep working it but it’s just been a rough go. |
If Colleges and universities are closed in the fall, all of college athletics will face dim prospects. No football or basketball will basically create a budgetary hole that only programs with the deepest pockets can survive. In such an environment it will be difficult to justify the ongoing support of any sport that is not at least break even.
There is no way school trustees will support using tuition to fund athletics in this economy. |
