6 week postpartum visit - virtual or in-person?

I feel very confident that my stitches are all healed up and don’t have any major concerns, and the appt is in the hospital (Sibley). Is it dangerous to request that it be virtual? What are others doing?

How are virtual pelvic exams done,?

I delivered 2 days ago. I’ve been instructed to schedule a 2 week telemedicine checkup and the usual 6 week follow-up in person.

I'm glad you are getting follow up care before 6 weeks. I had a truamatic birth experience and I had bad PPA. The nurses at my doctor's office accidentally scheduled my appointment for 3. 4not 6 and it was such a blessing because I got the mental health screening a lot sooner and didn't wait 3 more weeks to get help.

I'm the PP. I also had bad PPA the first time around, and I was happy to be told that my practice's new policies include a telehealth visit at 2 weeks. Initial screening for PPD/PPA is part of that visit. So important to pay attention to both physical and mental health in those first few weeks.
