Do you think masks will still be required if we postponed the appointment and also, we vaccinate would this get off schedule?

You are the parent and you tell your child that the mask is required to be kept on during doctor visit and there is no choice. I would raise holy hell if all children were wearing mandatory mask except your little snowflake. No other parent wants to take the risk if your spoiled brat spreading the virus!

The child is 2!!!!! He’s probably still wearing diapers. A mask that makes him feel like he can’t breathe is going to lead to tears and a tantrum - which incidentally results in more bodily fluids all over the floor, chairs, walls, etc.

Sounds like a good time not to go to a place requiring masks, if it isn't absolutely necessary.

I see a lot of kids that age who seem perfectly fine with masks, even proud of them. Depends on the kid, and probably somewhat on the parents.

The most important thing is for him to wear it while being examined. In which case you can be holding him on your lap, and tie the mask onto his face and hold his arms down with a hug. It’s important because when he talks or laughs or cries as the doctor is 2 inches from his face trying to hear his heart, he would spray virus at them.

Please. This is a two year old. One parent can hold him down, while another parent ties a mask to this poor kid? They still may be able to get it off. The doctor's office does not expect this level of effort. They are posting guidelines, not regulations.

I am a pediatrician and actually we do require all children over age 2 to wear masks while they are in our office. They are not guidelines, they are actually pretty strict rules. We cannot have our whole office infected with covid if we still hope to care for our patients. Many parents will hold the mask over the child’s face during the exam if the child doesn’t cooperate. It only takes a few minutes.

Tough. Keep him at home. What right do you and your, whatever the age, to possibly spred the coronovirus to my child, me or anyonecelse? You don't!
