When do you think museums will open up?

Hopefully not any time soon. And when they do open hopefully in very limited quantities, like reserve your ticket in advance or private party only.

We do not want DC to be a tourist destination this year. That will only bring and spread more germs. Let's try for spring 2021.

DD’s music teacher works at the National Art Gallery. He says their guidance is that they will not be reopening until 2021.

If they do open, they must coincide with the lifting of DC's lockdown orders. I also suspect it'll be something like a ticketed timed entry.

While I think that museums may not open for a while, I do think that even free museums bring a huge economic benefit to DC. There are food trucks, carts, vendors, etc. who all depend on the visitors to the museums to make a living. They don't make much money in the first place and the museums being closed is killing their businesses obviously.

Both could be right if second pp referring to the Smithsonian Museums - the National Art Gallery is a separate entity.
