You should be free to devastate your own local economy if that is what you want to do. You may lose all of your restaurants, bars, gyms, beauty salons, movie theaters but at least you will be safe.

Be realistic. Will you be going to all of these places even if they reopen tomorrow? I seriously doubt it. You MIGHT consider it if those places reduce their capacity by 75%. It still won't help those businesses if they don't have a steady stream of customers.

Yes. I would absolutely go to all of these places. No question.

Or their boyfriends. I think many of them are secretly homos.

Pray tell, what do you think an unchecked and deadly pandemic would do to the economy?

I think the state senators are doing this in their personal professional capacity; they're not the plaintiffs.

Then, please warn me wherever you are. But no responsible American wants to be near you, whether at the gym, a diner, Starbucks, etc. I certainly would not invite you to my house, with your apparent attitude. Gyms are obviously key places where any virus can spread quickly and broadly. And your selfishness places others at risk. I could not care less whether you put yourself at risk. But I care whether you put me at risk. The same rationale is why we have laws on second hand smoking, on driving, on vaccines, etc. Your inability to take a break for others shows through.

Gold's is suing because once the order is lifted, they can resume charging customers. This is all about the $$$$$.

Also, multiple doctors and nurses on the frontline of COVID-19 have told me they are worried most about the gyms.

The shared equipment is difficult to sanitize and the virus lives on metal and plastic surfaces the longest. Plus, people breath intensely while working out - especially through their mouth - so there will be much more exhalation of droplets that carry the virus. Finally, it's an enclosed space with recirculating air. The virus needs a strong breeze and fresh air to disperse quickly from the room.

In short, gym are terrible places to be in this environment. For similar reasons, churches are also terrible since people sing in unison and expel more droplets.

No way would I go to the gym until a vaccine is discovered.

One of the state senators is acting as one of the lawyers for the group Gold Gym franchisees. The other individual doesn't seem to be a state delegate or senator, nor is his name mentioned in the complaint.

+1

Total breeding grounds for this virus. I've dropped my gym membership and won't go back. Working out at home has proven easier despite lack of equipment. I know several RNs and they say exactly what you're saying above, PP--gyms are not going to be sanitized adequately and really never were even before this situation began. And my gym has several regulars who truly typify what you describe as "intense" breathers.
